Now that we’ve entered the New Year, many of us are thinking about the changes we want to make and the goals we want to achieve. For a lot of people that includes setting fitness goals and getting in shape. Whether you want to lose weight, build muscle, or just feel more energized and healthy, starting a new fitness routine can be a great way to kick off the New Year. 

I know this can be challenging for some. It's easy to get motivated at the start, but it can be harder to stay on track and maintain that motivation over time. That's why it's important to set realistic goals and create a plan for how you'll work towards them. I’m sharing some tips with you for staying motivated and achieving your fitness goals throughout the year. Whether you're just starting out on your fitness journey or you're looking to take your workouts to the next level, we've got you covered.

  1. Identify your goals and create a plan: The first step to staying motivated and achieving your resolutions is to have a plan of what you want to accomplish. Take some time to reflect on your goals and what you hope to achieve. Then, create a plan for how you will work towards those goals. Be specific and realistic, then break your goals down into smaller, achievable tasks and write them down.
  2. Find your motivation: It's important to find what motivates you and use it to your advantage. Whatever it is, find what drives you and use it to fuel your motivation. 
  3. Keep track of your progress: Seeing progress can be a great motivator, so make sure to track your progress as you work towards your goals. This can help you stay on track and see how far you've come. Take pictures, measure yourself, take notes of how you feel - whatever you think is going to help you track your progress!
  4. Celebrate your wins: It's important to recognize and celebrate your achievements, no matter how “small” they are. 
  5. Stay positive: It's natural to have ups and downs, and it's okay to have setbacks or moments of doubt. However, it's important to stay positive and keep a positive mindset and remember - keep it going, keep it pushing.
  6. Have a good support system: Surround yourself with people who will support and encourage you on your journey. This includes friends, family, or even a professional coach or mentor. Find a workout buddy and turn workouts into hangout time with your best friend to keep it interesting!
  7. Be kind to yourself: It's important to be patient and understanding with yourself. Don't get sad if you don't see progress right away, and don't be hard on yourself if you have a setback.
